Welcome to Den gamle Kro
Visit one of the country's finest restaurants, situated in and old half-timbered house from 1683 in the city centre.
The cosy courtyard is covered by a rolling glassroof, and with the well-preserved gallery and courtyard surroundings, is it one of the restaurant's most visited attractions.
"Gildestuen" and "Munkestuen" offer fine antiques, copper antiques and beautiful stoves in addition to the half-timbering.
The wine cellar has, with its vault and wines behind wrought iron doors, a nice atmosphere for gatherings before and after dinner.
Den gamle Kro offers a large lunch selection with traditional Danish lunch courses, among others; Danish open sandwiches, selection of herrings and smoked cream cheese from Funen. The dinner selection offers each month a five-course menu inspired by the raw products of the season. Furthermore, there is a varied á la carte menu, which combines both traditional course and French inspired courses.
The first floor of the restaurant has lounges, with a capacity of 10-60 people, which are ideal for corporate events and the like.
In the tourist season the town watchman starts his tour in the historic district in front of Den gamle Kro.
The kitchen is open daily:
Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.
Sunday and holydays from 11 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.
The restaurant has a capacity for 240 guests.
